Dear Dr. MLK Families,

Welcome to a historic year at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, a year that marks a powerful turning point in our story. For the first time in our school’s history, we are proud to be recognized as a B-rated school! This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of our teachers and staff, the determination of our students, and the partnership and trust of families like yours.

Our theme this year, “Stronger Together: Building the Dream,” captures our shared journey. Every student, every staff member, and every family contributes to the foundation we are building; a foundation rooted in equity, opportunity, and excellence.

As we continue this important work, we are proud to welcome new families joining us from across the community. Together, we are shaping a school culture where every child is known, supported, and challenged to grow.

Here are some highlights of the progress we are building on:

· Significant gains in Mathematics Achievement and Learning Gains

· Improved outcomes for students who are closing academic gaps

· A positive school environment focused on confidence, character, and academic growth

Welcome Back, MLK Family!

Welcome to a brand-new school year at MLK — a year full of promise, progress, and possibilities!

We enter this school year with a sense of pride and joy as we celebrate an incredible milestone: for the first time in our school’s history, we earned a school grade of a B! Together, we proved what is possible when we stay focused on our goals and lift each other up and we are just getting started.

Our theme for this year, “Stronger Together: Building the Dream,” perfectly depicts the spirit of our MLK family. We know that every student’s success is built brick by brick through collaboration and the collective strength of our school community. This year, we will continue to raise the bar, building on our achievements and striving to make this year even greater than the last.

As your assistant principal, I am honored and excited to continue supporting our staff, students, and families on this journey. Together, we will ensure that every child at MLK continues to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
